It was a memorable day as Oluaka Institute of Technology got commissioned.
Oluaka Insitute of Technology is a social enterprise established to contribute in bridging the gap in practical training, business incubation, and acceleration in the fields of technological innovation and business entrepreneurship in Nigeria, with a view to impacting social and economic problems in the eastern region, where unmet needs are quite significant.
The event started with #electioninnov8 hackathon which was about building innovations that will enhance free, fair and credible 2019 election in Nigeria.
There were teams who were eager to showcase their innovative ideas through a pitch session that led to the emergence of a winner, 1st runner up, and a 2nd runner up with prize money of 300,000, 200,000, and 100,000 Naira respectively.
The teams who came for the Bootcamp were Team E-Reporter, Team Unchained, Team Jenk, Team Lona, Team Jets Technology, Team 3CL, and Team Disrupt.
They all pitched their awesome innovative ideas to enhance a free, fair credible election.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion include Mr. Benson Onugbuo (Ph.D.), The Executive Director, Cleen Foundation, Mr. Innocent C. Chukwuma, Board Chairman Oluaka Institute and Imo State Commissioner for Education, Science & Tech, Hon Emma Buka all giving an opening remark.
Also speaking at the event was representative from Imo State Central Bank of Nigeria representing the Branch controller, Imo State Central Bank of Nigeria, who spoke on CBNâ€™s role in the development of human capacity and small businesses.
The official opening and commissioning of Oluaka Institute was done by the special guest of honor Hon Kenneth Ejiogu, Chief of staff Government House Owerri, Imo State and was supported by the Resident Electoral Commissioner INEC Imo State Prof. Francis Chikwuemeka Ezeonu, the Imo State Commissioner of Police represented by ASP Davison Chukwuemeka, Oluaka Instituteâ€™s Board Chairman Mr Innocent C. Chukwuma, Sam Ekwuribe GM, Oluaka Institute, Executive Director CLEEN Foundation, Benson Olugbuo (PhD) and Vice Chairman Board of Director of CLEEN Foundation, Prof Abubakar Mauza
